Job Description:
  • Performs system capacity analysis and planning, maintains servers, creates monitoring reports and logs, and ensures functionality of system links
  • Performs configuration management and documentation of network and system topologies
  • Prepares technical implementation plans that provide integrated solutions, including actions, milestones, timelines, and critical paths required for complete solutions
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of the organization’s hardware, software, and network components in addition to knowledge of programming languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies in use, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools
  • Plans, organizes, and documents complex system design activities and configure systems to be consistent with the USCYBERCOM policies and procedures
  • Organizes and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems
  • Provides the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance
  • Conducts capacity and performance analysis, and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations
  • Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities and programming techniques and controls
The most qualified candidates will have experience in the following areas:
  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems supporting software development, test, and production environments with multiple instances. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems and installs/loads applications and operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems in virtualized environments, including large commercial Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), and Defense Enterprise Computing Center (DECC) infrastructures.
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
  • Implements NIST Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
  • Configures access control mechanisms based on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), including Secure Socket Layer (SSL), and Transport Layer Security (TLS).
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, etc.

  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
 Job Requirements:

One year of modern operating systems and network architectures, certification and accreditation, architecture development and design, risk Assessments, and IA Metrics gathering.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma
  • Minimum DOD 8140/DOD 8570 IAT Level I Certification
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
